love heals: Luke Sisson

Small town support moves mountains.

Luke is from Warsaw VA, where he's well-known and well-loved by all who have the privilege to know him. He was born with CLOVES Syndrome, an extremely rare condition that has only been reported in less than 200 individuals globally. CLOVES causes fatty tissue overgrowth, vascular anomalies, spinal and skeletal problems, etc… just a few of the issues Luke has faced so far. 

He has experienced many difficulties throughout his life as a result of this illness, including innumerable hospital stays, a leg amputation, and multiple infections. For being only 22, Luke, and his parents have experienced a lot of hardships. 

Despite everything Luke has been through, he continues to be a light and inspire his hometown with all that he's been able to overcome and accomplish - including graduating from high school!

On September 20th, Love Heals partnered with the Sisson family to share Luke's journey with the whole community through a benefit concert. Our goal was to raise $10,000 to build a handicap accessible bathroom for Luke. 

With the amazing support of the Warsaw community, we were able to raise $13,140, which was 131% of the original goal!

Even more incredibly, the labor and materials for the bathroom were 100% donated, allowing the funds raised to be used to bless this sweet family EVEN MORE!
