our values

just a few things that really matter to us.

listening

we want to be people who don’t just hear, but listen - like, really listen. with thoughtful contemplation, we are seekers of understanding. we choose to be responsive instead of reactionary.

although we can never fully understand a road we have not walked, we know that there is healing in listening and in being heard.

communication

good communication is truly at the center of every healthy organization. we value strong and accurate communication in all things, especially stories, causes, impact, etc. we are committed to communicate the Love Heals story in a dynamic, empathetic, and trustworthy manner.

celebration

celebrate people. period. we want to be known by the sound of our cheers as we build community through collaboration, connection, and encouragement of one another. when one of us wins, we all win.

in order to build a world where no one walks through hardship alone, we need to learn how to be a companion. this is simple in name, challenging in practice, but profound in action.

at every stage of our process, whether volunteer, staff, donor, or beneficiary, we are creating a culture of companionship as we champion individuals - one person, one story, and one community at a time.

companionship

the 99 to 1 principle

why we do things the way we do.

Suppose one of you had 100 sheep and lost one. Wouldn’t you leave the 99 in the wilderness and go after the lost one until you found it? When found, you can be sure you would put it across your shoulders, rejoicing, and when you got home call in your friends and neighbors, saying,
'Celebrate with me! I’ve found my lost sheep!’

Luke 15:3-6

Yahweh reveals Himself in Scripture as the great Shepherd who fearlessly leaves the 99 to go after the one in need. He pursues His lost and struggling sheep, one at a time.

this inspires us.

so, we decided to structure Love Heals as an imitation of this radical way of loving people through a mission that champions individuals experiencing hardship.

we call this the 99 to 1 principle. just as God loves each and every one of us specifically and uniquely, we structure our program to share and participate in that same heart.

our hope is to inspire others to pursue one person at a time. if we all decided to live this way, we would see our vision fulfilled - a world where no one walks through hardship alone.

Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.
